The outage, which lasted roughly from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., had a particularly noticeable impact in Terrace, where it highlighted a sharp divide between large corporate retailers and small local businesses. Major national chains in Terrace, including Walmart, Wholesale Club, Safeway, and fast-food restaurants, were forced to close their doors. PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Trigon Pacific Terminals has announced it is moving forward with a new $750-million facility to export liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), such as propane and butane, from its terminal in Prince Rupert. TERRACE, B.C. – The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Skeena River, the Nass River, and all their surrounding tributaries due to rapidly rising water levels. The advisory, issued Thursday morning, means that river levels are rising or are expected to rise quickly. At this time, no major flooding is expected. However, the rapidly melting snowpack in the mountains is causing rivers and streams to swell, making riverbanks potentially unstable and dangerous. AHMEDABAD, INDIA – A Canadian citizen is among the at least 240 people killed after an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, India, on Thursday. The family of a dentist from Mississauga, Ontario, has confirmed she was on the flight. SMITHERS, B.C. – RCMP officers in Smithers will now be wearing body-worn cameras while on duty, the detachment announced Thursday morning.
